Jua Onwe Gi Ajuju

Artist: Voice of the Cross (Brothers Lazarus & Emmanuel)

Language: Igbo Genre: Gospel
Jua Onwegi Ajuju is an album by Voice of the Cross, the duo of Apostle Lazarus Chukwuoma and Rev. Emmanuel Ogbonna, who met at a church in Aba and became two of the pioneering voices in Nigerian gospel music from the 1970s through the 1990s. Their sound blended Igbo rhythms with highlife and funk, and this particular album is even noted for using session musicians from the funk band the Friimen. It's a twelve track record sung largely in Igbo, built around the kind of praise and testimony music the duo became known for.
