The Scripture Tells the Story is an album by Voice of the Cross, the duo of Apostle Lazarus Chukwuoma and Rev. Emmanuel Ogbonna, two of the earliest and most influential names in Nigerian gospel music. Unlike a lot of their Igbo language catalogue, this record leans into English language gospel songs, ten tracks built around scripture and testimony. It carries the same highlife touched sound the pair became known for after meeting at a church in Aba back in the 1970s.
