Yinka Ayefele - Glorious Day

"Glorious Day" opens Something Else, an early gospel album by Yoruba artist Yinka Ayefele. At close to eighteen minutes it's the kind of extended worship medley that became a signature of his music, the upbeat, hymn heavy sound writer Dami Ajayi has pointed to as the style Ayefele settled into around this stage of his career. Ayefele, who founded Fresh FM in Ibadan and built his career on gospel tungba music, made songs like this one for congregational singing rather than radio play.
