A Cry for Mercy is a two-track project by
Prince Gozie Okeke, a Nigerian gospel artist, songwriter, and producer from Nnobi, Anambra State who has spent years leading Igbo language worship music. Okeke is still fondly remembered for the massively popular
Akanchawa, and he has kept writing and producing steadily in the years since that breakout. On this project, he leans into long, flowing worship pieces built around repeated Igbo refrains, the kind of songs that feel more like a moment of prayer than a radio single. The title itself captures that spirit, a heartfelt plea that runs through both tracks on the album.
