AfroWap is a digital music library created for the love of African culture, sound and history. Our mission is to keep the sweet old music of our legends alive, so that the next generation can still feel the original African vibe.

Many timeless songs are disappearing because they were never properly archived or appreciated. At AfroWap, we believe our music is part of our identity and must not be forgotten. That is why we focus on collecting, organizing and presenting classic African tracks in a simple and enjoyable way.

Why AfroWap Exists

We noticed that a lot of great African music is becoming “extinct”. Young people grow up without hearing the sounds that shaped our parents and grandparents. Also, many copyright strikes and DMCA takedowns happen, even for cultural, archival and informational use.

AfroWap was built as a balance between preserving our musical history and respecting the rights of artists and rights holders. We tag most files with short audio IDs (music jingles) to discourage misuse and reduce the chances of full, clean files being abused.

Support African Artists
